Dear Reader,

First, thank you for taking the time to read this. If you’re reading this, you’re probably a parent, so I know your time is valuable. You are probably here because you want to teach your children about finances, so again thank you - I think this is one of the most important lessons parents can teach their children. They can learn the lessons elsewhere, but either the costs will be high, or the teachers might not have their best interests at heart.

Ney Ney is my English transliteration of the Brazilian diminutive for a baby “nene,” as I first came about the idea for this blog after the birth of my son, which happened while I was living in Brazil.

My goal is to help give you the courage, words, and structure to speak with your children about money. I don’t have all the answers. There are many ways to approach the topics, and personal finance is exactly that. I only hope that whether this blog reinforces your own idea or prompts new ones, you leave here more ready to talk about personal finance with your children.
